Prayer Walking Team Update
The Prayer Walking Team from First Baptist Church, Belleview, Florida is safely home and tucked in their beds, well safely home at least. The volcano with the unpronounceable name did not hinder travel in either direction (although there were some close calls).
Due to the health of his father, the Team Leader and his wife had to cancel at the last minute. But the training and team building efforts proved successful and the team functioned well as a team and not as a group of individuals.
The team worked in pairs to pray in and for all of the ministry areas of the Gent Festivals. In addition, they prayed through our list of ministry needs as well as praying for us and the teams to come. The one thing that can be said was they were determined to pray. Instead of leading them to pray we often had to make sure they took the necessary breaks and precautions. But we would have expected nothing less from a team from this church.
It would be nice (and totally in error) to say the prayer work is done and now we are moving on to the ministry work. In reality the prayer work has just begun. When one engages the enemy head-on in prayer it is immature to expect him to roll over and admit defeat. Even though he is ultimately defeated, the battle rages fiercely on. Now it will only get more intense. The good news is that this team can and will continue to pray with even more insight than before they arrived. May God provide many more teams like that!
